Scott, LA - Funeral services for Louisiana Proud musician and Cajun legend Hubert Maitre have been finalized. Services will be held Monday, December 18th at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott at 10:30 AM, burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family requests visiting hours be observed from 3 PM until 9 PM on Sunday, December 17th, and continue on Monday, December 18th from 8 AM until the time of services at Delhomme Funeral Home of Scott. A Rosary will be recited at 6 PM on Sunday, December 17th at the funeral home.
Hubert Maitre passed away December 16th at this residence at the age of 77.
Hubert served as a drainage supervisor for the Lafayette Consolidated Government for 25 years, but his main passion was Cajun music. He played in the most popular Cajun groups from the 1950s through the 2010s. His musical accomplishments led him to play dates all over the world, and has given him the opportunity to win several awards.
In Lieu of flowers, donations in Mr. Maitre's name can be made to the Miles Perret Cancer Services on Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette.
