GRAND COTEAU, LA - On Saturday, October 28, 2017, Grand Coteau, LA will hold its 6th Annual Sweet Dough Pie Festival. The event will take place from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM on the green grounds of St. Charles Catholic Church.
The event will celebrate the unique culture and history of Grand Coteau and will include a sweet dough pie contest, guest speakers, arts and crafts vendors and music by Sheryl Cormier & Cajun Sounds and Charlo & The Swampers.
Much planning has gone into this event, and a foundation has been established, The Grand Coteau Cultural Foundation, to serve as the overseeing body. Janice Fox of the Grand Coteau Cultural Foundation said, "The mission of the foundation is to promote the awareness of our unique culture, history and spiritual foundation. Our hope is that the foundation will serve many purposes including being able to issue grants to area organizations to further enhance quality of life and economic development in our beloved town."
Organizers are currently seeking corporate sponsors, arts and crafts vendors and sweet dough pie contest contestants for this event. Any support that you could give for this very worthwhile cause would be appreciated. Organizer of the festival, Janice Fox said, "We are also seeking volunteers who love this community as much as we do and want to help us bring something new and exciting to our town."
