WITH FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND PRAYER THEY STAYED STRONG FOR HUDSON. THE FAMILY WENT ON A HUNT FOR ANSWERS AS TO WHAT COULD BE GOING ON WITH THEIR BABY. THEY SEEN NUEROLOGIST, WHO RAN MULTIPLE TESTS, TRAVELED TO HOUSTON, NEW ORLEANS AND STILL THE DOCTORS HAD NO ANSWERS. SEVERAL MONTHS AGO HUDSON BEGAN HAVING SEIZURES THAT HAD HIS BODY JERKING FOR UP TO FIFETEEN MINUTES AT A TIME. THEY STILL HAD NO DIAGNOSIS FOR THE CORTICAL BLINDNESS, THE DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS AND NOW SEIZURES. HUDSON THEN BEGAN SHOWING SIGNS OF CONSTIPATION AND WAS REFERRED TO A GI DR WHO COULD HELP. THE GI DOCTOR REFERRED THE FAMILY TO A GENETICS DOCTOR WHO RECENTLY WAS ABLE TO HELP WITH THE DIAGNOSIS. ON MARCH 21, 2017 HUDSON WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CDKL5,

WHAT IS CDKL5?

A RARE GENETIC DISORDER. CDKL5 is a rare X-linked genetic disorder that results in early onset, difficult to control seizures, and severe neuro-developmental impairment. It is an orphan disorder, however more children are being diagnosed as awareness of CDKL5 spreads. Most children affected by CDKL5 suffer from seizures that begin in the first few months of life. Most cannot walk, talk or feed themselves, and many are confined wheelchairs, dependent on others for everything. Many also suffer with scoliosis, visual impairment, sensory issues and various gastrointestinal difficulties.
