January 31, 2017

Lafayette, LA - Long time Acadiana news anchor, Blue Rolfes, has announced her retirement today via Facebook.  Blue Rolfes worked at KLFY for over 35 years and has anchored such programs such as Passe Partout, Meet Your Neighbor, and Eyewitness News at 5, 6, and 10.

From all of us at KBON 101.1, we wish you the very best in the next chapter of your life, and we can't thank you enough for your service to Acadiana!

Blue Rolfes left a message on her official Facebook page to all of Acadiana.

"After more than 40 years in the broadcast news business, 38 of those years here at KLFY, it's time to start a new chapter in my life. At the end of next month, I'll be leaving to take on a new challenge right here in Acadiana, and I'm excited about it and really looking forward to this new opportunity. I'll definitely miss all the wonderful, talented people I've had the good fortune to work with here at KLFY, and I'll always be so very grateful and thankful for the friendshi...p and support from all of our viewers and folllowers over all these decades on the air. It's been an incredible career, and I've loved every minute of it, but it's time to move on. As my good friend Rob Macko always says, if you love what you do, you'll never feel like you've had to work a day in your life. Thanks so much for all the wonderful memories and experiences and friendships, Acadiana, I'm truly blessed to have been a part of your lives. I'll leave you with a line from one of my favorite Neil Young songs, "Long May You Run." "...We've been through some things together, with trunks of memories still to come..." On behalf of Dee Stanley and our family, thanks for everything!"
