"Gumbo"Phil

Hand picked by “Louisiana Proud” KBON 101.1FM founder, Paul Marx. The seasoned veteran,“Gumbo” Phil Daigle has been on KBON since it hit the airwaves in 1997. You can listen to him Monday thru Saturday from noon until 6PM. Famed Louisiana Historian and writer Herman Fusilier dubbed him “The Iron Man of Radio.”

Gumbo Phil hails and still resides in Crowley. He is a singer/songwriter having performed and recorded with the Blues band Little Ray and the Blues Sonics recording two albums “Hot Rod Blues” and “Going Back to Eunice.” He penned the 2017 hit song for Warren Storm “Last Man Standing.”

On April 28, 2003, Louisiana Governor Mike Foster inducted Gumbo Phil into the Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame for his extraordinary work in the promotion and preservation of Louisiana’s great musical heritage.
